Welcome to my Online Teaching Page. You'll find weekly posts of optional activities that reinforce the lessons I've taught the previous week.

The Week ending April 2, 2021

Kindergarten

Taking time to read a story with your child is the most important thing you can do as parent to ensure that they become successful readers. Your child should have a school library book in their procession that they can share with you. I've taken to scanning my read-alouds and putting them in Google Slides. I always try them out on my grandchildren, ages 3 and 5. See below for some books you can read aloud via a computer/tablet.

We're continuing the "pigs" unit by showing a farmyard pigs YouTube video. This sets the stage for talking about fiction vs. non-fiction. I've been reading aloud The Pigs' Wedding and Benny's Had Enough!. I've put the books in a Google Slides format if you'd like to read them with your child (you must be logged into a gorhamschools.org account). I finish the class by allowing the class to use their iPads on a PBSKids game called Alpha Pigs Paint by Letters.
